The City of Georgetown Needs Volunteers

The City is in need of applicants to fill numerous Advisory Boards and Commissions.  A full listing and description of these advisory boards and commissions, and their present membership, can be found at the following website:  http://government.georgetown.org/category/boards-commissions/

Applications (which are available at  http://files.georgetown.org/boards-commissions-application/) should be completed and delivered to the City by January 8th. You may deliver the completed application and cover letter three ways:

1. Mail on or before January 8, 2010 to:

   2.  Fax to (512-930-3659)

   3.  Deliver in person to the receptionist at

 City Hall

 113 E. 8th Street

 Georgetown

City Council members will conduct individual interviews soon thereafter.

As you look through the different commissions and advisory boards, you may see the names of friends or neighbors.  If you know someone, give him or her a call to see what is involved in serving, once selected.  Usually the time commitment is a couple of hours per month, depending on the advisory board or commission. 

The City of Georgetown's City Council relies on and utilizes these groups of residents to advise and guide them in their decision making process.
