CITIZENS COUNCIL AT SUN CITY TEXAS

COUNCIL CHARTER

 

1.     Purpose.  The Citizens Council At Sun City Texas shall be an independent organization consisting of a group of positive, pro-active, visionary citizens guided by the principles of honesty, truthfulness, and unifying, supportive involvement in the community and whose purpose is to insure a high quality of life; long-term sustainability; competent, progressive governance; and fiscal responsibility for our community today and in the future.

 

2.     Vision. The Vision of the Citizens Council At Sun City Texas shall state the Goals that guide the Council’s work and is attached hereto.

 

3.     Organization.  The Citizens Council At Sun City Texas shall be organized as follows:

  1. Charter Membership.  Charter members of this Council shall consist of residents of Sun City Texas who fully support this Charter and Vision, are in good standing in the community, and are willing to participate actively in the work of the Council.
  2. New Members. New members may be added with approval of the Board of Directors.
  3. Governance.  The Council shall be governed by its Officers and a Board of Directors as specified in its Bylaws.  Committees shall be appointed to support the Council’s work as is necessary.

 

4.     Meetings.  The Citizens Council At Sun City Texas shall meet at least annually, the date, time and location as announced by its governing officers.  The Council may meet at other times when called by the Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors shall meet as specified in the Bylaws.

 

5.     Finances.  Funds for accomplishing the work of the Citizens Council At Sun City Texas shall be provided by its membership through a dues structure as specified in the Bylaws.

 

6.     Amendment of Charter.  The Charter of the Citizens Council At Sun City Texas shall be amended as recommended by the Board of Directors and ratified by at least 75 percent of the membership.
