CCSCT 2009 Tactical Plan

Goals and Actions

The CCSCT Board of Directors has given considerable thought to the Council’s progress over the last two years and has developed a plan describing what needs to occur in 2009 to make continued and significant progress toward achieving the Council’s Vision and Charter. We will track, audit, and report our progress toward achieving our Goals and Actions.

2009 Citizen Council Goals:

To be viewed by the community as the source of clear, objective, factual, and comprehensive information on issues facing Sun City Residents.

To increase Council visibility.

To become more pro-active in our actions and demonstrate our purpose for existence.

To encourage civility among residents in all communications and actions.

To increase the value the Council brings to its Members.

To increase our community audience and Membership.

Goal : To be viewed by the community as the source of clear, objective, factual, and comprehensive information on issues facing Sun City residents.

We will research and publish meaningful articles on topics such as those listed on Attachment A.

We will increase the number of articles we publish to the community.

We will correct non-Council published misinformation when appropriate

Goal: To increase Council visibility.

We will advertise in periodicals and news sources such as Sun Rays, Stacey Group Newsletter, Williamson County Sun, and/or IMPACT

We will publish information about the Council in the Sun Rays Interest Groups pages

We will appear on Channel 79 and News and Views thru our community service project

Goal: To become more pro-active in our actions and demonstrate our purpose for existence.

We will encourage volunteerism in and outside our community.

We will sponsor a community service project.

Goal : To encourage civility among residents in all communications and actions.

Our approach to all our articles and publications will be to present topics positively and honestly with intent to educate residents so that they may make informed decisions.

Goal : To increase the value the Council brings to its Members.

We will encourage Members to identify their concerns about the community by:

· Taking every opportunity to ask Members what concerns they have about the community and demonstrate we are listening by taking action on those issues that affect the majority

· Making personal contact with each Member twice a year to discuss her/his thoughts about the Council.

We will foster more relationships among the Membership by:

· Increasing the number of social events and sponsoring all or part of each event.

· Supporting a community service project that brings us together for a common cause.

We will keep them involved and informed by:

· Expanding the Members Newsletter to include short paragraphs about current events in Sun City and Georgetown.

· Encouraging Members to attend Council Board Meetings by providing them with meeting agendas, date, time, and location.

· Marketing our work groups to Members so that they can see value in serving.

· Publishing CCSCT Board minutes.

· Publishing summary notes from CA Board Workshops and Meetings

· Providing CA Financial information in layman language

· Maintaining a quality web site.

Goal: To increase our community audience and Membership.

We will develop a plan to attempt to meet and greet all new residents.

We will host a community meeting to share information about the Council and its goals.

We will speak on behalf of the Council at CA Board workshops and meetings and at other select venues.

We will provide a quality web site that provides Members and residents with current information about the Council and its publications.

We will encourage Members and residents to communicate with us through our email address.
